You own your screenplays and we only use them to make your read. Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from your account. Use the Service lawfully and don’t upload work you don’t have the right to use.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Table Read at gettableread.com (the “Service”), operated by Barr Balamuth, New York, USA (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live), and old enough to form a binding contract to purchase a subscription. You’re responsible for your account, for keeping your sign-in secure, and for activity under it. Tell us promptly at barrbalamuth@gmail.com if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
3. What the Service does
Table Read turns screenplays you provide into audio performances using automated, AI-generated voices, and lets you cast and direct those performances. Generated audio is synthetic, can contain mistakes (for example mispronunciations or misattributed lines), and is intended to help you evaluate and develop your own writing.
4. Your content
You own your screenplays. You keep all rights in the scripts, pages, and notes you upload (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, and transmit Your Content, and to generate audio from it, only as needed to provide the Service to you. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for backups kept for a limited period. We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we don’t publish, sell, or license it.
You’re responsible for Your Content. You confirm you have the rights needed to upload it and that it doesn’t violate the law or anyone else’s rights.
Generated audio. As between you and us, you may use the audio generated from Your Content for your own creative development, such as reviewing drafts or sharing a read with collaborators. Don’t present generated voices as real people’s voices, and don’t use the Service to imitate a real person without their permission.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content you don’t have the right to use, or that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful;
- use the Service to create deceptive impersonations, fraud, harassment, or material that sexualizes minors;
- attempt to bypass usage limits, access other users’ data, probe or disrupt our systems, or reverse engineer the Service;
- resell the Service or use automated means to access it except through features we provide.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.
6. Plans, billing, and cancellation
- Free preview. You can hear the first five pages of a screenplay without payment details. We may change or limit free features.
- Subscriptions. Paid plans (currently Writer at $19 per month or $190 per year, plus any applicable taxes) are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method each billing period.
- Allowances. Plans include a monthly allowance of newly generated audio, measured in characters and described approximately in pages. Unused allowance doesn’t roll over. Replays of already-generated lines don’t count against it.
- Cancellation. You can cancel any time from your account’s billing settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
- Price changes. We’ll give you advance notice of any price change, and it will apply from your next billing period after the notice. You can cancel before it takes effect.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may pause paid features until it’s resolved.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, voices, and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms don’t give you any rights in it beyond using the Service as offered.
8. Feedback
If you send us suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (such as payment, hosting, and AI voice providers) described in our Privacy Policy. Their availability can affect the Service, and we aren’t responsible for their independent actions.
10. Changes and termination
We may update the Service and these Terms. If we make material changes to the Terms, we’ll notify you in advance; continuing to use the Service after they take effect means you accept them. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms or if we discontinue the Service; if we discontinue a paid Service, we’ll refund any prepaid amount for the unused period.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that generated audio will be accurate. Keep your own copies of your screenplays.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here limits consumer protection rights you have where you live.
15. General
If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn’t a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of the Service. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
