We collect your email, the scripts you upload, and what you create with them, only to run Table Read. We don’t sell your data, don’t use your screenplays to train AI models, and don’t run advertising or analytics trackers. Email us any time to export or delete your data.
Who we are
Table Read (“Table Read”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Barr Balamuth, based in New York, USA. For any privacy question or request, email barrbalamuth@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google shares (name and email). Passwords for email sign-in are handled by our authentication provider; we never see them.
- Your content: screenplays and pages you upload or paste, the characters and scenes we detect, your cast and voice choices, direction notes, saved projects, and listening positions.
- Generated audio: the performances created from your script. We cache generated lines so replays are instant and don’t count against your allowance.
- Billing information: your plan, subscription status, and billing dates. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe; we never receive your full card number.
- Usage and technical data: how many characters of audio you generate (to apply plan limits), and standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, request times, and errors, used for security and troubleshooting.
- On your device: the app stores your sign-in session and reader preferences (like text size and view mode) in your browser’s local storage. We don’t use advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
How we use it
- To provide Table Read: parse your script, suggest a cast, generate and play voices, apply your direction, and save your work.
- To manage your account and subscription, apply plan limits, and send service emails such as sign-in links and receipts.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To respond when you contact us.
We process this information to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, and with your consent where required.
Your screenplays are not training data
We do not use your screenplays, notes, characters, or generated performances to train AI models, and we never publish, license, or sell them. Uploading a script does not give us any ownership of it. Your content is used only to create the table read you ask for.
Who processes data for us
We share data only with service providers that help us run Table Read, and only what each needs:

If we change voice or AI providers, we’ll update this list. We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of the service, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and saved projects while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your content, generated audio, and account data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons (such as payment records held by Stripe). Server logs are kept for a limited period for security.
Your choices and rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and content by emailing barrbalamuth@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, or California), you may have additional rights, including to object to or restrict processing and to complain to a data protection authority. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising them. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to storage requires server-side credentials, and sign-in sessions are cryptographically signed. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects it.
International transfers
Table Read is operated from the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Children
Table Read is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the applicable age), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
We’ll post any changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we’ll let signed-in users know by email or in the app.
